According to impactsofmenopause.com "currently, more than one billion women worldwide are experiencing perimenopause, menopause, or postmenopause. By 2030, the number of women aged between 45 and 55 is expected to reach nearly 500 million, which will represent about 6% of the global population”.

Those are significant numbers. So time is definitely of the essence to have the workplace environments catch up with these numbers. Especially knowing the midlife woman brings so much punch to any organize through her wisdom and will to succeed.

If you, your Organization or anyone you know would like more information regarding this OR have me come in and help implement these strategies, please email me at shinefitness74@gmail.com and let’s talk.

Below are ten ways your workplace can implement strategies to help YOU and other women in your workplace environment to thrive:

    1. Awareness and Education:

Encourage workplace awareness and education about menopause to foster understanding among employees and managers.

    2.   Open Communication:

Create a culture that encourages open communication, allowing employees to discuss menopause-related concerns with colleagues and

supervisors.

    3.    Flexible Work Arrangements: Offer flexible work arrangements to accommodate the diverse symptoms and challenges that menopause may

bring, such as flexible hours or remote work options. Offer the flexibility to get the results from these amazing women.

    4.    Training for Managers: Provide training for managers to recognize and support employees experiencing menopause, ensuring they can

handle related conversations with empathy and sensitivity.

    5.    Health and Wellness Programs: Incorporate health and wellness programs that address menopause-related issues, including stress

management, nutrition, and exercise. ** Ask me to help.

    6.    Temperature and Comfort: Consider the workplace environment, addressing factors like temperature control to create a more comfortable

setting for individuals experiencing menopause symptoms, that also doesn’t take from those not experiencing. Communication is where it’s at

here!

    7.    Supportive Policies: Develop policies that explicitly address menopause-related concerns, including leave policies, accommodation options,

and support mechanisms.

    8.    Employee Assistance Programs: Offer access to Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) that provide confidential coaching and support

services for employees navigating menopause challenges.

    9.    Community and Peer Support: Establish support networks or peer groups within the workplace, allowing individuals experiencing

menopause to share experiences and advice with their colleagues. Women need to not feel alone during this time and / or invisible.

    10.  Regular Check-ins: Implement regular check-ins between employees and managers to discuss any adjustments needed and ensure ongoing

support during the menopausal transition.

At the end of the day, it’s about recognizing that a) this age of woman brings a punch to the table when it comes to workplace environments (and otherwise!) and…..with menopause being (at last) very much recognized as something that needs to be supported, be THAT company that leads your Community to do so.
